Jean I. Liu has served as Chief Legal Officer since January 2011. Previously, Ms. Liu served as our Senior Vice President of Legal and General Counsel since March 2003, Vice President of Legal and General Counsel from February 1999 to March 2003 and our Vice President of Legal from October 1998 to February 1999. Prior to that, Ms. Liu worked as an attorney at Venture Law Group, a law firm, from May 1997 to October 1998. Ms. Liu worked as an attorney at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP, a law firm, from September 1993 to May 1997. Ms. Liu received a B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology from University of Michigan, an M.S. in Biology from Stanford University and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
