Job Title: Analytical Research Associate I (Temporary Position)
Location: Cupertino, CA
Description:
This is a 6 to 12 month temporary assignment. Main Purpose of Position: Independently perform chemical and physical analytical tests; and evaluate and interpret data. Main Duties and Responsibilities: - Compile data to DEA regulation
- Perform chemical and physical assays on drug substance and drug products.
- Collect, calculate, and compute data, analyze and submit interpreted results to supervisor for disposition; report abnormalities immediately; investigate and analyze and resolve problems within prescribed scope of authority; and write non-conformance reports.
- Review and verify test results performed by other chemists.
- Evaluate and improve techniques and assays.
- Write, review and revise SOP's as needed.
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- MS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field preferred.
- At least 2-4 years (4-5 years preferred) of recent experience in a pharmaceutical company testing drug products, with continuous hands-on HPLC and/or dissolution experience, and thorough compliance to GMP regulations and internal SOPs.
- Must readily follow all documentation requirements.
- Must be detail oriented, well organized, and display strong writing skills.
- Must be flexible towards handling project assignments, and be a team player.
Working Conditions: - Will be required to work in the analytical laboratory for up to 50%-75% of work time on average.
- May work with potent drug molecules and hazardous chemicals.
- Will be required to wear laboratory safety devices during working in the laboratory such as respirator or mask for potent molecules.
- Must follow all the safety rules and guidance from Durect's EH&S group.
- Will work extensively with personal computers.
