Job Title: Quality Control Research Associate I (Temporary Position)
Location: Cupertino, CA
Description:
This is a 6 to 12 month temporary assignment. Main Purpose of Position: Independently perform Performance Maintenance (PM) and Operational Qualification and Performance Verification (OQ/PV) of Agilent High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments and Varian dissolution apparatus for GXP analyses. Main Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform maintenance, qualification and verification of Agilent HPLC analytical instruments and Varian dissolution apparatus for GXP analyses.
- Monitor stability chambers, ovens, refrigerators and other entities using existing Labwatch software.
- Perform analytical tests and chemical and physical assays on drug products and raw materials.
- Collect, calculate, and compute data, analyze and submit interpreted results to supervisor for disposition; report abnormalities immediately; investigate, analyze and resolve problems.
- Evaluate, interpret and improve data techniques and assays.
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 0-2 years experience.
- Ability to read and follow internal SOPs in a pharmaceutical company, maintaining and qualifying instruments used for testing, and thorough compliance to GMP regulations and internal SOPs.
- Prior experience with mechanical troubleshooting in any field preferred.
- Must readily follow all documentation requirements.
- Must be detail oriented, well organized, and display strong writing skills.
- Must be flexible towards handling project assignments, and be a team player.
Working Conditions: - Will be required to work in the analytical laboratory for up to 50%-75% of work time on average.
- May work with potent drug molecules and hazardous chemicals.
- Will be required to wear laboratory safety devices during working in the laboratory such as respirator or mask for potent molecules.
- Must follow all the safety rules and guidance from Durect's EH&S group.
- Will work extensively with personal computers.
