Operations Assistant
Location: Cupertino, CA
Provide operational support to multiple functional departments, including Human Resources, Finance, IT, QA, BD, Marketing, Research, and Legal, to contribute to the development and implementation of organization goals
Main duties and responsibilities
- Provide company-wide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings (including lunch), preparing expense reports, coordinating travel, as well as initiating and accepting significant self-directed work such as planning large meetings for both internal and external attendees including creating, assembling and distributing documents.
- Complete independent project assignments that support the organizational needs of the Company
- Assist HR department with recruitment, interview agendas, preparation and distribution of documents, documentation follow-up, and database maintenance
- Process invoices, ensuring expenses are within budgeted purchase orders
- Assist Legal department with filing and maintenance and upkeep of patent files. Ensure all related materials are properly secured within the relevant files for ease of tracking and easy retrieval
- Schedule and coordinate with external vendors, i.e., Recruiters, facilities service requests
- Provide customer service assistance for the ALZET product line; check orders as needed
- Assist with document control duties such as archival and retrieval of records, and other duties as needed
Requirements
Knowledge/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree highly desirable
Job Experience:
- 0-1 years of administrative experience
- Experience in corporate environment highly desired
Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to use independent judgment in ensuring smooth operations of organization
- Multi-tasking skills critical
- Proficient MS Office skills required
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain and organize filing systems
- Must be flexible, team oriented, self-starter, and able to work independently
- Must be well organized, and possess good customer service skills
- Able to perform new tasks without detailed guidance
Essential Functions:
- Ability to use of both hands for extended periods of time while performing regular tasks
- Ability to visually read and type
- Ability to lift, move and handle materials weighing up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, bend (neck and/or waist), kneel, reach, stoop, squat, twist (neck and/or waist), push, pull, and use of both hands and fingers for extended periods of time while performing tasks.
Working Conditions
- Majority of work is performed in a typical office work environment
- Position requires extensive computer and face-to-face communications.
Additional Information
Durect Corporation anticipates that the annual base salary for this position could range from $50,000 to $58,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s credentials for the role, including education, qualifications, and type as well as length of experience. Any offered salary is also based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, and the position’s wage range. The salary range listed does not include any applicable bonuses or long-term incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. At Durect Corporation it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation.”
